We’re asking our community for creative solutions to textile waste. This November, Columbia City Gallery and EILEEN FISHER Renew are teaming up to present the Re-Maker’s Market, a fresh take on our beloved Renew Chop-Challenge.
For years, the Chop-Challenge has invited artists to transform damaged and discarded garments into something entirely new. This year’s reimagined event carries that spirit forward, asking artists to create original works made with at least 75% reused textiles from EILEEN FISHER Renew. The result will be a vibrant display of ingenuity, sustainability, and artistry — and a fundraiser to benefit Columbia City Gallery and SEEDArts.

Why It Matters
ReMaker’s Market is more than an art installation, it’s a way to give back to our community. By breathing new life into reclaimed materials, participating artists help raise funds for Columbia City Gallery and our parent program, SEEDArts. These proceeds directly support opportunities for local artists, youth, and underrepresented voices, while ensuring Southeast Seattle continues to thrive as a hub for creativity.
When the weekend showcase concludes, unsold works may remain available for purchase in the Columbia City Gallery Gift Shop or be returned to the artist. Every piece represents a contribution toward keeping art, culture, and sustainability at the center of our neighborhoods.
