“I like to say that I learned about life riding the number 7,” says Artist Tina Garrick Albro in this feature story by Seattle Channel.
Combining her artistic sensibility with a deep love of community, Albro’s mural pays homage to King County Metro’s No. 7 bus line and the community it traverses. Located on the exterior wall housing Columbia City Gallery, the mural is visible to southbound travelers riding the No. 7.
The mural is based on Albro’s series of prints celebrating the iconic route. In true community spirit, it became a collaboration with fellow gallery artist Jayashree Krishnan when it was suggested that portraits of notable Rainier Valley residents be added as passengers on the bus.
