Growing up in the Southwest and living near Mexico was a strong, early influence on my work.
I love flowers and gardening and for the last few years have painted many flowers. But for years I did no flowers because most were too sweet and pretty. I finally decided that since I spent so much time with them I had to try to find a way to do flowers that I liked. I have done that, but am always looking to improve.
I have a degree in painting for the University of Texas at San Antonio and also studied art at several other schools in Texas.
