As an artist, I search to find connections with other artists, philosophers, poets- thinkers, in general.
I believe I have discovered a formula for what makes great Art. Two elements are required, in my view. Shared human experience and content from the subconscious mind. As an artist, I search to find connections with other artists, philosophers, poets- thinkers, in general.
I have often been accused of leaving my paintings rather incomplete. Discussing this with my daughter one day, she says,”your work is like a chord progression; you will never hit the last note”. This is all toward an attempt to have my paintings maintain as much openness as is humanly possible.
I think that my work involves an extremely broad engagement with other artists and their work and I really do like it when the content of Art involves comic, philosophical or Art historical questions. I crave art theory like a baby craves a bottle.
